Tourism is never just about the destination — it’s also about the stories told and retold along the way. In northern Vietnam, ethnic minority communities like the Hmong and the Tày have long carried rich cultural narratives rooted in the land, seasons, and spiritual beliefs.
Our project explores how these narratives shift as outdoor tourism grows. Through photovoice and collaborative storytelling, we ask: what stories are being lost, gained, or transformed — and by whom? Storytelling is not just expression; it’s power. And in sustainable tourism, it might just be the key to balance.
