The Mù Cang Chải region is seeing a significant influx of new tourism due to its proximity to Hanoi and being an attractive destination for ethnic/eco/adventure tourism and as such will be a key location to explore touristic influences. More specifically, project 1 will focus on the influence of ‘new’ outdoor tourists within this area and changes in worldviews, beliefs, gender perceptions, skills, and agricultural practices associated with local ethnic minority groups.
