Project 2 will focus on the Sa Pa district as it is an ‘established’ international tourist destination within the Lào Cai province of northern Vietnam. It is a point of research interest due to its heavy emphasis on outdoor tourist activities which are led by local ethnic minority women. The researchers will work closely with the Sa Pa based Hmong freelance trekking guides who are part of the outdoor tourism industry.
